The Challenge

Nigeria's 60th independence anniversary called for a celebration that would capture the nation's journey, achievements, and aspirations. The Federal Government commissioned a comprehensive publication that would serve as both a historical document and a vision for the future.

The challenge was immense: how do you tell the story of Africa's most populous nation, with over 250 ethnic groups, 500 languages, and a complex history spanning six decades? How do you create something that honors the past while inspiring the future?

Our Approach

We assembled a team of writers, researchers, historians, and visual storytellers. Our approach was deeply human-centered – we wanted to tell Nigeria's story through the voices of its people.

"This wasn't just about writing a book. It was about weaving together thousands of stories into one coherent narrative that every Nigerian could see themselves in."

The project involved extensive research, including interviews with over 200 stakeholders, from government officials to market traders, from tech entrepreneurs to traditional rulers. We traveled to all 36 states, documenting stories of transformation, resilience, and innovation.

The Solution

The final publication, "Discover Nigeria: Land of Promise," became more than just a commemorative book. We structured it as a journey through Nigeria's past, present, and future, with each section carefully crafted to build upon the last.

The book featured stunning photography, infographics, and data visualizations alongside compelling narratives. Each chapter celebrated different aspects of Nigerian life - from agriculture to technology, from arts to industry - showing how far the nation had come and where it was headed.

We also created supplementary materials including a documentary film, an interactive website, and educational resources for schools, ensuring the stories reached audiences beyond the printed page.
